Integrations
BACnet (Building Automation and Control Network) is the dominant open protocol for building automation. Most modern BMS speak it natively.
BACnet is an ISO/ANSI standard for communication between building automation devices. It defines how controllers, sensors, and applications exchange object data — temperatures, setpoints, occupancy, alarm states — over IP, Ethernet, or older serial buses.
Why it matters: BACnet is the lingua franca of modern buildings. A platform that reads BACnet can integrate with almost any BMS without bespoke connectors. Older serial-only sites can be bridged with cheap IP gateways.
FrostLogic Explore reads BACnet (BACnet/IP and BACnet MS/TP via a gateway) natively. The connection is read-only by default — we subscribe to point updates, we don't write back to your control system.
